SPAY NEUTER CLINICS 2008 -- Wednesday October 1st, 2008
September 2008 Spay/Neuter Clinic
The spay/neuter clinics are becoming so routine that notes have not been sent out for each one, but our September 2008 clinic was noteworthy.
We had a 3rd vet helping us at this particular clinic and 2 extra techs.
With all the folks helping out, 36 total cats were altered and the actual
surgery time (not counting set-up and Clean-Up) was just over 3 hours.
There were no complications and with 36 less cats reproducing we made a
real dent in the cat overpopulation problem.
All 3 vets plan to continue helping at the clinics and we may be adding
some new equipment to improve the clinics speed and safety shortly.

Pet Food Recall -- Saturday April 14th, 2007

Menu Foods, a national manufacturer of pet foods, issued a voluntary recall of canned and pouched wet dog and cat food manufactured in two of its facilities between Dec. 3, 2006 and March 6, 2007.
Menu initiated the recall after receiving reports that some of its foods may be the cause of reported illnesses and kidney disease in dogs and cats. Menu Foods distributes to supermarkets, mass merchandisers and pet specialty stores, including PetSmart. Menu Foods does not produce any dry pet foods.
The recall has since expanded to include other pet food manufacturers and continues to evolve.
